Lama Jiayang Jiacuo

Lama Jiayang Jiacuo, of Dongmana Monastery, was passed away at the end of 2007, aged 77.

吉祥先师嘉央加措，1931年出生于青海省循化县文都乡尕让村，17岁时剃度出家，依止李加喇嘛，后又随青海著名的才旦夏茸大师习法。

1968年文革时期红山东玛纳寺遭暴风雪破坏，先师与僧众离寺还俗，其后师更入狱数年。1980年文革后，先师回到红山甘都，重建寺院，弘扬佛法，利益众生。

2007年夏先师因劳成疾，一病不起，于同年阴历11月4日（公历12月13日）圆寂，终年77岁。东玛纳寺于公历12月15日至18日举行大法会，20日拉卜楞寺主持嘉木样活佛及众多上师亲自前来为先师诵经，祈愿先师再来人间传法。

My late master was born in 1931 in Qinghai Province, and ordained as a lama at the age of 17. His first teacher is Lijia Lama, later he also studies Lamaism from Grand Master Caidan Xiae.

In 1968, the monastery was destroyed in a snow storm, my master and all other lamas were forced to return their own homes respectively. After the Cultural Revolution in 1980, my master and other lamas returned to the ruin site and have rebult the Dongmana Monastery.

2007 summer, my master fell ill and was passed away on 13 December. A memorial service was held during 15 and 18 December. On December 20, Jiamuxiang Lama, the abbot of Labulensi Monastery, and other lamas came to the monastery chanting Lamaist sutras, praying for my later master's swift return to this world to resume his advanced Lamaistic cultivation.
